Kathmandu: In Nepal, all preparations, including necessary security arrangements, have been finalized for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election scheduled for January 25.

The voting will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and eligible voters include members of the Province Assembly, chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of rural municipalities, and mayors and deputy mayors of urban municipalities.

The Election Commission has implemented a silence period from Monday midnight until the end of voting to ensure impartiality, transparency, and a fear-free environment during the election, as mandated by legal provisions.

During this period, individuals, political party office-bearers, candidates, sister organizations, and other entities subject to the election code of conduct are prohibited from engaging in discussions, interactions, meetings, or workshops related to election publicity.

For the election, white ballot papers with election symbols in green ink will be used for Province Assembly members, while white ballot papers with election symbols in red ink will be used for the chairpersons, vice-chairpersons of rural municipalities, and mayors and deputy mayors of municipalities.
